Samhain & Techiyat HaMetim

Having discussed the idea of the klipah of Rhiannon (as it pertains to my Samhain dream) in my post Tzipporah, Rhiannon & Messianic Consciousness, I will now discuss the idea that overcoming this klipah connects to the Judaic idea of techiyat hametim (resurrection of the dead).

Just as Rhiannon is the feminine archetype capable of awakening the dead to judge the living, so too is Rhiannon, stripped of the klipah which encases her, capable of resurrecting the (living) dead to (eternal) life. Samhain is the Celtic New Year and a Day of Judgment similar to the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. Moreover, as the liturgy of Rosh Hashanah which concerns the akeidah is related to techiyat hametim, so too, is Samhain linked to the idea of "awakening the dead to life". In consequence to this power to resurrect the dead, Samhain is called the Festival of the Dead.
