Symbolically the most complex of all the runes, Elhaz (also known as Algiz) embodies and distributes the Rune Force of powered protection. Cloaked in the power of this protective force are the Valkyrjur - powerful, protective, life-giving beings who often fly also cloaked under swan feathers. Through the Valkyrjur, Óðinn communicates and gives power to his chosen heroes and heroines. Connecting the human and Divine realms, Elhaz corresponds to the functions of the High Priestess and High Priest in magical rites.

Elhaz is the primary rune found reiterated in the powerful Aegishjalmur bindrune.

Aegishjalmur is an ancient Norse Bindrune also known as the Helm of Awe and Terror Helm. This powerful Bindrune instills fear in enemies, binds and confuses baneful energies, enables one to conquer fear within one's own mind, and confers power and dominance to the spellcaster during conflict.

Many sacred secrets are hidden within Aegishjalmur, including several numerical patterns (3 and 8, for example). The rune Elhaz is contained in multiples of 8 - not only at the ends of the Bindrune's spokes, but also hidden within the forms of the Bindrune. Elhaz openly connects the spellcaster to his or her spiritual source, guardianship and sovereign right to exist. In Aegishjalmur, the reiterated protective connection powered through Elhaz summons exceptionally potent magic.

The burnt cork of the spell bottle is hand rubbed with red ochre and sealed with black wax. The front of the bottle is handpainted with the Elhaz rune.
