Dark Crone of the Woods BLACKTHORN OIL

BLACKTHORN, the "increaser and keeper of dark secrets ..."

Associated with the fid (letter) Straif in the Celtic Druid sacred tree alphabet, BLACKTHORN (Prunus spinosa) is also know as Dark Crone of the Woods, Mother of the Woods and Wishing Thorn.

The Sidhe hold the BLACKTHORN as particularly sacred. BLACKTHORN faeries are called the Luantishees.

With dark twisted branches and long wicked thorns, the BLACKTHORN tree is perfectly suited to dark and protective magic, especially during the dark half of the year, during the waning Moon, and during Dark Moon esbats. Like in the fairytale Sleeping Beauty, the prick of a BLACKTHORN spike can easily turn septic and deadly.

Berries of the BLACKTHORN, called sloes, ripen and turn sweet after the first frost. These dark blue sloe berries are used to make sloe gin and a medicinal tonic to "clean the blood."

This Dark Crone of the Woods BLACKTHORN OIL is handcrafted with a genuine Blackthorn Thorn Spike, Leaf and three Sloe Berries - potent triple protection! - carried in wildcrafted, certified organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. BLACKTHORN OIL may be used for protection, hexing and hex-breaking, banishing, exorcism, wishes, Celtic Druid rites, and Faery magic.

The 10 ml glass bottle comes capped and adorned with midnight black handmade silk sari ribbon.

Comes beautifully packaged.

This magical oil may be purchased at WITCHCRAFTS by Liorah Lleucu.
