Celtic Knot Handfasting Cord

ד' באייר תש"ע
Annwyn 5

Handfasting is an ancient Celtic betrothal and marriage tradition where lovers literally "tie the knot" and declare their devotion to one another. Regardless of religion, a handfasting ritual can be added to any wedding ceremony.

The term handfasting comes from the Early English verb "handfast" used for making a marriage contract. The handfasting of a witch typically takes place within a sacred circle of family, friends and coven kin.

There are several methods for tying the knot. With the cord wrapped and the couple's hands joined together in an infinity symbol, the corded braid is traditionally thrice looped around their clasped hands.

This Celtic Knot Handfasting Cord is braided with ivory, gold and green Celtic knot 3/8" ribbon, handmade emerald Silk Sari ribbon and elegant maroon Organza ribbon. Twelve genuine golden-color freshwater pearls, 18 garnet wood beads, 6 maroon and green swirl glass beads, 6 smoky fashion beads, 2 garnet glass beads, and 2 golden beads adorn the flowing ribbon edges of the cord.

Measures 85 inches and comes in a beaded organza pouch.

This magical cord may be purchased at WITCHCRAFTS by Liorah Lleucu.
